A bye to the Under 16 girls, and a forfeit in favour of our Under 14s, sums up the Friday night action for our teams, although an extra energetic training session for the 14's was enjoyed at Mortimer instead!
Turning to Sundays action, and our sole representative of the Under 10 girls, Katrina, was generously included into the Ballina Bombers U10 girls team, and did our jumper proud with a stellar game! We know there are more out there to join our 10's girls so get the word out!
Swans Under 8s vs Tweed Coast Black U8s
On a cool breezy morning the Under 8s ventured out to Barry Sheppard Oval, Cabarita to take on the Tigers. In an 8 vs 9 players set up, our youngest champs played their best game of the season so far, showing great teamwork and real growth in understanding how the game can work for them, and how what they do can help their team mates. It's amazing to watch these guys learn each game! Go Swannies!
Swans Under 10s vs Ballina Bombers U10s
Our games head to Fripp Oval in Ballina for the last 2 of the round. The Under 10's playing a few new debutants came up against a big Ballina team on their home turf. The game was a fast, tight tussle with the bigger Bombers players making the task a little more challenging, however our Swannies had brilliant contributions from all the players, all over the ground, during the game, and really kept up with their more fancied opponents! These guys will only get better considering the amount of skill and heart they all possess. Well done!
Swans Under 12s vs Ballina Bombers U12s
The 12's took on the Bombers with a few players unavailable, but thanks to some of the 10's "doubling up" for another run, we had enough players to hit the ground running! The Bombers with their clear size advantage jumped out quickly against our outfit and maintained the lead for the duration. Being outsized in almost all areas on the field could have proved too much for this team, but to only concede 6 goals for the whole game, is a massive testament to the drive and desire these players have for the team and each other. It's the never give up attitude that they all have, which makes us all so proud of them all. Awesome stuff!!

The rest of our tribe will gather at Mortimer Oval on Sunday for our first home game of the year!
