Round One for the Under 14's and Under 16 Girls began at the Cavanbah Centre, Byron Bay, in the newly revamped night competition. Both age groups just missed the minimum quota of players, but with the generous help from Tweed Tigers and Murwillumbah Vulcans, we had two games of incredible quality from our players!

Swans Under 14's vs Tweed Tigers U14's
With a handful of Tigers joining our 7 strong lads, it was evident early from the first bounce that we have the makings of a seriously talented team. Sascha Alexeeff's dominance in the ruck duels, down to his silky prime movers Jayden and Blaze, proved a massive handful for the opposition, as they continuously bombarded their forward line. Lochie was a constant target down there, and when he was moved to the ruck in the 3rd, created a different dimension for the team.
Tom Pardavi had some great rebounds from defence, and with Thomas Bowker and Caleb providing great pressure and support, our efforts were clearly reflected on the scoreboard.
With more numbers to make up the team after the holidays we hope to not forfeit any more games. The performance of these guys was enough to convince all that they will challenge any team in the comp.

Swans Under 16G vs Tweed Tigers U16G
Our girls were just one player short of a team after Bella and Jade joined us from the Vulcans. With Tweed filling the final spots, the game was under way... and it was clear that both teams had come to play!
Coach Nicola had the girls rotating around the ground during the evening and as the game progressed and the screams got louder (apparently screaming at the player kicking sends the ball off its axis!), the more enjoyment the players seemed to have.
This was evident when high fives and hugs were given after Kaitlyn kicked a point! A little more reserved after her goal though! Even one of OUR players kicked out, after WE scored a point!
Eliza was dominating as usual all over the ground, and with Mia running through the middle at will, Mollie and first gamer Maddie owning their positions, and fellow first gamers Nicki and Atri supporting and impacting at important times, our guys, when the siren sounded, were in front on the scoreboard!Â

We would like to thank the Tweed Tigers for not only supplying players to make up our teams, but to the efforts and excellent spirits in which these kids played for us.
It was brilliant!
To our 14's and 16's, get your mates and tell them how good this is!!
